Ottawa Wedding Show-April 7-8, 2018

We presented a tablescape at our booth at this year's Spring Ottawa Wedding Show at the EY Centre. Our inspiration was based on the popular colour trends for this year. We choose the Wildroot colour palette (see our last blog post) and used the combination of ochre, using orange and soft yellow, burgundy and lavender (including soft pinks). The candle votives and pedestal plate for our elevated centrepiece was a patina mercury glass that help pick up the up the greeny grays that is also featured in this palette, along with our dreamy greens of silver dollar eucalyptus and parvofolia.  The crimson willow was used to created the a full size wreath or Eternity Circle on booth wall.  The willow was also used to create a booth header, picture not shown, that created a hanging floral effect over our booth.

We had so many compliments on our booth. Our colour scheme was a departure from the usual classic and safe trend towards white, green and or blush pink. Some many different textured flowers created interest, and lots of talking points with show visitors and a lot of WoW.  The plates were a find in the deep depths of our family buffet and coordinated nicely with our colour scheme.  I am currently working on the design and welding a metal hoop that is self standing for the eternity wreath that will be an item available to rent. One of my many passions outside of floristry is working with hands and creating things, I am working with my father and he is providing guidance (his welder) to weld the metal hoop for the extra large wreath.
